Ausbildung in Germany is a vocational training or apprenticeship that combines on-the-job training at a company with classroom instruction at a vocational school. It is a dual system of education and training that combines both theoretical and practical learning. It is the main pathway for young people to gain practical, job-specific skills and qualification. It is a dual system of workplace training and academic education managed through cooperation between companies, vocational schools, and regulatory bodies. It is a training of 2-3 years in any profession such as hospitality, cooking, bakery or medical professionals like nurse, medical/health assistant, midwifery, care-taker, gardener, truck driver, air traffic controller, IT specialists, mechatronics, mechanical, carpenter, salesperson and so on. After completing the program, trainees receive a certificate recognizing their skills and competence in their respective fields. The program is available to Germans and non-Germans, typically lasting between two to three and a half years.
